Outside Puppets began in 2009 as an ensemble of artists with a passion for puppetry, performance and social change through arts and education; making puppets and masks out of recyclables and daily life used objects; bringing to life the unwanted and the rejected.
We are artists performers and workshops facilitators using puppet theatre. Our approach to facilitation is process based and participant led with focus on the personal development of the individual within the group. Whether a puppet, a mask, a performance or a film, the “end product” serves as a motivation to engage in the creative process through imaginative playfulness; within a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.

“What is the purpose of life? If one were to express this in just a word, it would have to be ‘happiness’. The purpose of education must therefore accord with the purpose of life.”(Tsunesaburo Makigushi)
